Associate / Associate Director Transport Planner - London

I'm working with an established and growing independent transport planning consultancy in London that is looking to appoint an experienced Associate or Associate Director Transport Planner to join its team.

The consultancy works across a varied portfolio of development and infrastructure projects, advising clients throughout the planning process. The London team is well established, with a strong pipeline of work and further growth planned.
This is a senior position suited to someone who wants to combine technical delivery, project management, client relationships and team development, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the business continues to grow.

The Role

• Lead and manage transport planning projects from initial feasibility through to planning submission and determination.
• Prepare and oversee Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and supporting transport documentation.
• Provide strategic transport planning advice to clients, developers and project teams.
• Manage relationships with clients, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Lead and mentor junior and intermediate members of the transport planning team.
• Review technical work and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
• Contribute to business development and the development of existing client relationships.
• Assist with the continued growth and development of the London transport planning team.

About You

• Significant UK consultancy experience within transport planning.
• Strong experience in development planning and transport consultancy.
• Proven experience delivering Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
• Comfortable managing projects, clients and junior team members.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning process and the role of transport within development proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercially aware, with an interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business growth.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership with CIHT would be advantageous.
