We're working with a well-established and rapidly growing construction consultancy looking to strengthen its London team with an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor. You'll work across a varied portfolio of commercial properties, including warehouses, offices, laboratories and other specialist assets.

Responsibilities of the Chartered Building Surveyor:

• Carrying out detailed building surveys, condition surveys and inspections across commercial properties.
• Diagnosing and advising on building defects, maintenance requirements and remedial works.
• Preparing technical reports, schedules of condition, specifications and schedules of work.
• Producing cost estimates and budgets for repair, refurbishment and improvement works.
• Managing refurbishment and construction projects from inception through to completion.
• Providing Contract Administration services, including administering JCT contracts.
• Managing project programmes, budgets, contractors and consultant teams.
• Undertaking technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys.
• Advising clients on planned maintenance, lifecycle requirements and asset management.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, architects, engineers and other professional consultants.
• Attending site and client meetings and providing clear technical and commercial advice.
• Preparing and delivering professional reports and presentations.
• Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for repeat business and new instructions.

Key Requirements

• MRICS / Chartered Building Surveyor with strong post-qualification experience.
• Proven professional Building Surveying experience within the commercial property sector.
• Experience across commercial assets such as offices, warehouses, laboratories or industrial properties would be advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of building construction, defects, pathology, maintenance and refurbishment.
• Experience producing surveys, condition reports, specifications and schedules of work.
• Proven project management experience through to completion.
• Good knowledge of JCT contracts and Contract Administration.
• Technical due diligence / pre-acquisition experience would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and client management skills.
• Commercially aware, with an understanding of project budgets, fees and profitability.
• A genuine interest in building relationships, business development and winning work.
• Highly organised with strong time-management and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.
• Full UK driving licence advantageous.
