Senior Site Engineer

We're recruiting a Senior Site Engineer to support a major water‑treatment facility being delivered under AMP8. This is a technically involved environment with complex underground structures, extensive pipework, and strict quality and compliance requirements. It suits someone with strong civils and water‑sector experience who can take ownership of engineering control, mentor junior engineers, and maintain high standards across multiple work fronts.

You'll be working on reinforced concrete structures, large‑diameter pipework installations, drainage networks, utilities diversions, chambers, culverts, and deep underground assets. The role requires confidence managing temporary works, sequencing, and buildability, along with rigorous documentation and coordination across design, commercial, and delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering control across RC structures, drainage, utilities, and underground works
• Deliver accurate setting‑out, surveying, and as‑built records across multiple packages
• Review drawings, specifications, and technical requirements, resolving clashes and buildability issues
• Manage ITPs, QA records, permits, and site documentation to water‑sector standards
• Coordinate with designers, temporary works, and subcontractors to maintain technical accuracy
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure consistent engineering standards across the team
• Support planning, sequencing, and interface management across civils and M&E elements
• Drive problem‑solving and practical solutions on complex pipework and underground structures

Ideal background

• Civil engineering degree or equivalent
• Strong experience as a Site Engineer or Senior Site Engineer on water‑sector projects (AMP frameworks, WTW/WTW upgrades, pipelines, utilities)
• Excellent understanding of RC structures, drainage, utilities, pipework installation, and underground assets
• Confident working with temporary works, QA processes, and controlled environments
• Able to challenge design, propose practical solutions, and maintain high technical standards
• Comfortable leading engineering teams and managing subcontractor coordination
