Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for aa confident people leader to join us as a Plant Supervisor at our Sheffield Asphalt plant. You will help lead one of our sites which plays a fundamental role in the delivery of Asphalt; supplying major highway projects, the housing sector and local authorities. If you are looking to make an impact on a wider stage, this opportunity provides the scope to demonstrate your natural flair for getting things done, working with a dedicated team. About the role You will effectively supervise and coordinate all site operations in a safe manner, maintaining production to meet customer demand. Safety is a priority. Production must be optimised with the site and facilities kept in a well-maintained condition. Other elements to the role include: Assist the Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager to manage the allocated business unit and in their absence act in accordance with the respective company policies and deliver as minimum, the agreed Company Health, Safety & Environmental Objectives Ensure the allocated business unit as a minimum complies to ISO9001 & 14001 National Third Party Accreditations Be able to complete to company standards, Risk Assessments and Method Statements with the ability to review employees and contractors completed ones for accuracy. Instil company Standards through Visible Felt Leadership To ensure all visitors and staff are fully inducted to company standards Instigate and be involved in the delivery of Interactive Safety Tours (IST) Ensure all Incidents, nears misses and Safety Concerns are reported and investigated to company standards Through Knowledge and understanding of the company KMI system, input information in the correct manner Assist the Plant Manager/Assistant Plant Manager to ensure all incidents, near misses, Safety Concern’s, audits and action plans are closed out with corrective actions in a timely manner Carry out Hazard Investigation tours (HIT) Assist with and deliver regular tool box talks and safety briefings What will you bring? Self-Motivated with initiative and a pro-active confident approach Previous work in heavy industry, preferably in a supervisory capacity Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relations with others Be able to plan and prioritise effectively Understanding of budgets and financial responsibility Highly organised with demonstrable planning and delivery capabilities Understanding of basic maintenance and PPM ​What’s on offer?
