Environmental Due Diligence Consultant

APPLY Job Description

Environmental Due Diligence Consultant

London | Hybrid Working | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Ready to broaden your environmental consulting experience and work on a diverse range of projects?

We're working with a specialist environmental consultancy looking to appoint an Environmental Due Diligence Consultant to join its growing team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EDD professional who enjoys technical work, variety and client interaction, and is keen to expand their expertise into wider sustainability and decarbonisation services.

You'll work across a varied portfolio of projects for multiple clients, delivering Environmental Due Diligence assessments while contributing to a broader Combined Services offering. This could include exposure to areas such as decarbonisation and CRREM reporting, giving you the opportunity to develop your skill set beyond traditional EDD.

What will you be doing?

  • Undertaking environmental due diligence assessments across a diverse range of projects and sectors.
  • Collating and reviewing environmental information, including historical mapping, geological and hydrogeological data, regulatory records and third-party database searches.
  • Reviewing data rooms and third-party reports to identify environmental risks and support report preparation.
  • Conducting site visits and taking responsibility for audits, including leading visits independently where appropriate.
  • Preparing Phase 1 Environmental Due Diligence reports, with access to technical guidance and support.
  • Managing elements of projects and liaising with clients and subcontractors.
  • Contributing to wider Combined Services projects, with opportunities to develop knowledge of sustainability, decarbonisation and related reporting.

What are we looking for?

  • Direct experience in Environmental Due Diligence.
  • A good understanding of environmental assessment processes, the information required for environmental reporting and the identification of potential environmental risks.
  • Experience reviewing environmental data, preparing reports and undertaking site audits.
  • Strong written communication, attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and tackle new challenges.

Experience or an interest in ESG, real estate sustainability and decarbonisation would be beneficial, but extensive sustainability experience is not essential. You don't need Technical Due Diligence experience either, the focus is on your environmental due diligence expertise and your appetite to broaden your capabilities.

What's on offer?

  • A varied workload across multiple clients and projects.
  • The opportunity to expand your expertise beyond traditional EDD into wider environmental and sustainability services.
  • A supportive technical environment where you can continue developing professionally.
  • Hybrid working: four days per week in the London office, with the flexibility to work from home on Fridays.
  • A competitive salary, dependent on experience, alongside a benefits package.
