Take the lead on projects that make a difference
We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join an established building services consultancy, working across a varied portfolio of projects in the commercial, residential, education, industrial and leisure sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys getting involved in projects from the early design stages through to delivery. You'll have the chance to take ownership of technical work, work directly with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create buildings that are efficient, practical and fit for the future.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading electrical building services design across a range of projects and project stages.
  • Developing solutions for power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, data and communications, security and other electrical systems.
  • Working closely with mechanical engineers, architects, contractors and clients to coordinate designs and resolve technical challenges.
  • Managing project workloads, deadlines and deliverables while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Providing technical advice and contributing to key design decisions.
  • Attending design meetings and site visits to support projects through construction.
  • Reviewing electrical calculations, specifications and technical drawings to ensure compliance with current regulations and industry standards.
  • Supporting the development of junior engineers and helping to share knowledge across the team.
  • Exploring opportunities to improve energy performance, integrate low-carbon technologies and deliver more sustainable buildings.

What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced electrical building services engineer who can combine strong technical knowledge with a practical, solutions-led approach. You should be comfortable managing your own workload, taking responsibility for project delivery and communicating confidently with clients and colleagues.

We'd like to see:

  • Proven experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant UK building regulations, BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), industry standards and electrical design principles.
  • Experience coordinating projects with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations.
  • An interest in energy efficiency, sustainable design and emerging engineering solutions, including low-carbon technologies.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced engineers.
  • Chartered status, or working towards professional accreditation with CIBSE or the IET, would be beneficial.

What's on offer?
You'll be joining a consultancy where you can broaden your project experience, strengthen client relationships and play an active role in delivering quality engineering work.

The position offers the opportunity to:

  • Work on a diverse range of building projects.
  • Take greater ownership of technical design and project delivery.
  • Work alongside a knowledgeable and collaborative engineering team.
  • Contribute ideas and influence how projects are designed and delivered.
  • Develop your leadership skills and support the next generation of engineers.
  • Progress your career within a growing building services environment.
