Balfour Beatty has completed the acquisition of construction and fit-out firm Multibuild for £1.9m in cash.
The construction giant has acquired two operating companies, Multibuild Hotels and Leisure, and Multibuild Interiors, from parent Multibuild Holdings.
Multibuild is based in Stockport, and specialises in the construction and fit-out of hotel and leisure facilities.
In November, the £69m turnover firm entered a credit voluntary agreement after being badly affected by the recession.
A Balfour Beatty statement said: “Involvement in the construction and fit-out of hotels, and other leisure facilities, including cinemas and casinos, will give Balfour Beatty exposure in the wider fit-out market and to customers including Whitbread, Rank and Odeon.”
