Bell & Webster is well known for their precast fast build rooms in the hotel and student accommodation sector. To offer greater flexibility Bell & Webster have introduced two new products which are manufactured at the Hoveringham plant to complement the Company’s core product base.
The new products – an eight-metre wide span floor and an insulated glazed wall panel – will open new market opportunities and increased revenue streams for Bell & Webster. Whereas before the Company’s acclaimed Fast Build Rooms system was used primarily for hotel and student accommodation, now that capability encompasses social housing, key worker homes, schools, apartments and prison accommodation.

Working for the main contractor at Loughborough University Bell & Webster Concrete Ltd have completed the first two phases of new student accommodation. At the peak of the programme vehicle movements with the precast units alone exceeded 12 per day and three operating crews each with its own LR 1130 crawler crane were working on site. As the project progressed there was a phased handover of finished blocks allowing other trades to complete internal and external work. Two halls were ready for their first students in September 2008, with the third taking students in January 2009 and the fourth in October 2009.
