Construction worker killed on west London site

Police and the Health & Safety Executive are investigating the death of a construction worker on a west London building site.

A statement by the HSE said: “The HSE has been informed of a fatal accident at a construction site in Lancaster Gate, London W2.

“Inspectors from the Health and Safety Executive are attending the scene as part of a joint investigation with the Metropolitan Police.”

It is thought the dead man, who has not been named, was struck by a falling scaffold pole while he was taking a cigarette break.
