DORMA’s revamped Showbus has been touring the UK & Ireland during 2009 to demonstrate a wide range of impressive door controls, automatics, and glass products, illustrating why DORMA are still number one for product design and quality.
The DORMA Showbus is a purpose designed learning space combined with a showroom to bring DORMA’s products direct to your door. Installers and specifiers can benefit from not only seeing DORMA products in the flesh, but experiencing their functionality in a realistic, working environment.
The DORMA Showbus carries out a full tour of the UK every 10 weeks making it regularly available for companies to visit. Its frequent schedule of availability made it popular with architectural ironmongers in 2009 as it meant that companies could plan ahead and invite guests and clients to show them the variety of products available from DORMA, or host a CPD presentation on-board. The DORMA Showbus has also proved very helpful in assisting visitors in meeting modern, stringent fire and accessibility regulations, demonstrating products with a variety of different door types.
The DORMA Showbus visited Spiller AI, an established architectural ironmongery company based in Somerset in November. Gary Hewitt, General Manager at Spiller felt that “The visit of the DORMA Showbus was very beneficial for everyone at Spiller and our invited guests. Spiller have recently acquired “GuildMark” accreditation, being one of the first AI companies in the UK to do so and currently the only one in the South-West counties.
The Showbus made a number of visits to hospitals, councils and architect practices during 2009 with additional products always being added to improve its success. The Showbus now contains a working sample of DORMA’s new CS80 automatic sliding door operator which uses state-of-the-art electro-magnetic technology. Other additions in 2009 include the Contur Panic Hardware range and DORMA’s new Door Furniture ranges; incorporating levers and pull handles.
