12 Oct 10 Morgan Sindall has been selected by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver a £18.5m regeneration project in Stockbridge Village, Merseyside.

Morgan Sindall has been selected by Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver a £18.5m regeneration project in Stockbridge Village, Merseyside.

The project will see the creation of a new swimming pool, gym and leisure facilities, learning resource centre, primary school, children’s centre and family centre, multi-use games area, and a supermarket.

Morgan Sindall will deliver the scheme in five phases. The first phase involves construction of a replacement sub station following the demolition of the former Heatwaves leisure centre at The Withens.

The contractor will begin building the new school and leisure centre under the second phase, before starting work on the new retail provision in the third stage.

The final two phases will involve creating improved infrastructure for public transport and completing car parking and landscaping works.

The project is due to be completed in the spring of 2012.
