Wates has won a £19.5m contract for the construction of new business and arts faculties at Liverpool John Moores University.
The design and build contract covers the demolition and rebuilding of the Clarence Street tower site, with associated new buildings and external works.
The new build work will provide facilities for the Faculty of Business and Law and the Faculty of Arts, Media and Social Science.
It will include installation of new services throughout, external landscaping and associated civil works.
Wates saw off competition from four other bidders to clinch the deal.
