The order was split evenly between four model types: the one-tonne Hi-Tips, the three-tonne Powerswivels, the six-tonne Powerswivels and nine-tonne standard front-tip models.
A-Plant has more than 2,000 dumpers in its fleet, up to 10-tonne class.
A-Plant director of purchasing and fleet management Andrew Winlow said: “We continue to invest in new equipment because we want to offer our customers an extensive range of high quality, reliable equipment. Thwaites has the widest range of four-wheel drive site dumpers, which are renowned throughout the industry for high performance levels, durability and low operating costs.”
A-Plant’s 2013 investment programme has also included orders of more than £2m for Hamm tandem rollers from Wirtgen, £2.2m of SDMO Generators and a £27m order for 800 machines from JCB.
