Algeria awards €313m tram expansion contract

1 Jul 14 Algeria has awarded a €313m (£250m) contract for the expansion of the first tram line in Constantine, Algeria.

The contract involves the construction of 13km of including 14 stations and will also involve the construction of a car park. It will be carried out by a consortium of Isolux Corsán (33.3%), Alstom (37.7%) and Cosider (29%).

The work involves two sections of line. The first of them runs to Mohamed Boudiaf Zouaghi-Airport and will be 2.8km long with four stations. The second stretch, Zouaghi-Ali Medjeli, will be 10.3km in length and have 10 stations.
