Mr Judd joined B&ES as chief executive designate in March 2011, when it was the Heating & Ventilation Contractors Association. He took over as chief executive on 25 July 2011. He left at the end of June 2013.

B&ES credited Mr Judd with overseeing the rebranding of the association and promoting reform of the Building Engineering Services National Agreement (BESNA)

B&ES president Sue Sharp said that she was sorry to see him go.  “Blane has worked closely with the officer team in developing a vision and strategy for the Association – a strategy which I believe provides an excellent platform for our continuing effectiveness and prosperity in the challenging years that lie ahead,” she said.

Mr Judd said that, following a period of reflection, he had decided that the time was right for him to seek a fresh opportunity that would employ his change management and innovation skills and experience to maximum effect.

He was previously with the Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering.
