The masterplan and concept design has been produced for Turkish developer Megapol’s Vaha project, which will create a new shopping and leisure development for the region.
The mixed-use project containing over 175,000sq m of retail, leisure, education, social and religious buildings serving both the local community and the wider Izmir region. In addition BDP is working with Los Angeles-based leisure consultants Utopia Entertainment on the development of a major fun park, which will be integrated into the site to act as a further anchor to the eastern side.
The narrow site sits at the foot of hills and has several streams running through it. The site layout creates a series of island destinations linked by bridges and landscaped routes. A central feature space is overlooked by cafés and restaurants acting as a focal point for the project.
BDP is working with local architect EPIG on the project.
