The site has planning permission for 754 homes, more than 600 student beds, a hotel and more than 100,000 square feet of office space.
Berkeley has bought the Goodman’s Field site in Aldgate from receiver BNP Paribas Real Estate for an undisclosed sum. BNP Paribas Real Estate has been handling the site since January 2010 after Lloyds Banking Group withdrew its support for Omega Land, a joint venture between Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds and developer Exemplar.
