China inks $13bn Nigerian rail deal

7 May 14 China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation and Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Transport have agreed a framework contract for a railway with a provisional value of US$13.122bn (£7.75bn).

The framework contract is for the coastal railway project, which involves a total track length equivalent to 1,385km of single track.

Both parties will conduct further negotiations on detailed contents and enter into a detailed contract.
