The work for client Oslo Lufthavn is scheduled to take three years and is a phase in the expansion of the Gardermoen Airport.
Gardermoen is beginning to reach its capacity ceiling and will be expanded with a new pier to expand the arrival and departure facilities to increase capacity. NCC’s contract is for the to the expansion of the Sentralbygning Vest, or Central Building West.
NCC said that it secured the construction contract on the basis of several criteria including a new environmental focus at all its construction sites in Norway. All sites have been designated green construction sites since the start of this year, with workplaces subject to rigorous environmental demands, including the use of energy-efficient solutions and efficient waste management.
Work will start in April and is scheduled to continue until February 2015.
