Councils prepare £1bn construction framework

26 Oct 14 LGSS, the shared services venture owned by Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire county councils, is advertising for contractors to join a construction framework expected to be worth between £500m and £1bn over a four-year term.

The framework is divided into five bands according to project value. Selected contractors will be in line for work from Norwich City Council and Northampton Borough Council, as well as Northamptonshire County Council and Cambridgeshire County Council.

Up to 36 contractors are expected to be selected across the various bands.

LGSS is one of the largest public sector shared services ventures of its kind in the UK and has been in full operation since October 2010.
