ECI route for £60m A40 upgrade

29 Mar 16 Procurement of upgrade works to the A40 in Pembrokeshire is moving ahead on an early contractor involvement (ECI) basis.

The Welsh government has published a contract notice for the A40 Llanddewi Velfrey to Penblewin Improvements. The contract value is expected to in the region of £55m to £60m.

The selected contractor will carry out the design and construction of a 5km bypass comprising a 2.5km length of carriageway to the north of the village of Llanddewi Velfrey and a 2.5km section of bypass to the west of Ffynnon Wood, where the bypass will rejoin the existing trunk road at Penblewin Rounabout.
