The new facility incorporates 23,000 square feet of manufacturing, workshop, and offices, expanding the firm’s total capacity on site to around 48,000 square feet.

Elite, founded in January 2008, employs 40 staff and has become a major UK producer of interlocking ‘V’ and ‘Lego’ precast concrete blocks, used for waste facilities, infrastructure and temporary works.

Following a successful trading year, Elite plans to increase its presence in international markets such as Holland, Germany and the Middle East.

Owen Batham, sales and marketing director, said: “One of the more remarkable aspects of our growth over the last year is that turnover has significantly increased despite many of our customers coming from the construction industry, which of course, has been one of the hardest hit by the economic downturn.”
