Galliford Try scoops £38m Reading office scheme

21 Nov 13 Galliford Try has won a £38m contract to build a new office development in Reading for M&G Real Estate and Bell Hammer.

The Forbury Place project will see the creation of 185,000 sq ft of Category A office space in the first of two new office complexes on the site of the former Energis House in Reading. The eight-storey building will target a BREEAM Excellent rating and provide an additional 450 parking spaces that will service both buildings on completion.

Project architect is Aukett Fitzroy Robinson and the client team also includes consultants Sweett, URS, AKS Ward and Total Project Integration.

Galliford Try Chief Executive Greg Fitzgerald said: "This successful contract win further cements our position as a leading contractor within the office sector in the southeast and we look forward to working with our partners at M&G Real Estate and Bell Hammer to provide a landmark new building for business in Reading."
