Galliford Try Partnerships has been contracted to build a £44m retirement village at Wixams in Bedford for the Trust.
The new village will have 230 mixed-tenure apartments, alongside with communal facilities such as a village hall, library, bar and bistro, gym, beauty salon and shop.
This is Galliford Try’s 10th development with the charity, with new projects at Longbridge, Stoke Gifford and High Wycombe currently on site.
Galliford Try Partnerships chief executive Stephen Teagle said: “Our long-term collaborative approach with our clients is a feature of our business, and nowhere is this better demonstrated than in our excellent relationship with ExtraCare. Homes for older persons are a key part of the housing mix and our team is looking forward to producing a high-quality retirement village to meet local needs.”
