Northampton Borough Council planning committee approved the planning application on 18th October 2016 for the care home, which will be owned and operated by Oakdale Care Group. The facility will provide a care home for those aged over 65 years.
Construction will began on site in November, with a predicted completion date of September 2017.
Project director Christine Cooper said: “We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home for Oakdale Care Group. It is also great news for Duston creating 50 jobs in the local area and providing a high quality resource for elderly people in the local community. The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly by benefitting from ground source heat pumps, solar thermal panels and LED lighting keeping utility costs low.”
