ISG has a £22m contract, starting in April, to build 190 apartments over the next two years.

Orbit’s St Anne’s Quarter will eventually have 437 apartments and houses available through a mix of both affordable and private rent, shared ownership and outright sale.

Development director Maggie McCann said: “The contract marks an important milestone in our £80m transformation of this city centre site, which previously stood empty for 20 years. As the first of the new apartments go up, Orbit’s vision for St Anne’s Quarter will really start to come to life.”

Danny Blakeston, managing director of ISG’s engineering services business, said: “This latest win will build on a strong partnership with Orbit, transforming an underused site to deliver modern, high-quality mixed-tenure homes.”
