McLaughlin & Harvey made a pre-tax loss of £3.6m in 2014 (2013: £3.2m profit) on turnover up 24% to £196m (2013: £158m).
The company attributed the loss to contracts won during the downturn.
Despite this, the current order book is said to be healthy and further growth is expected. The number of employees grew from 382 to 427 during 2014.
