Mace targets transport with new recruits

6 Aug 13 Mace, best known as the builder of the high-rise Shard, is targeting growth in the transport sector.

It has recruited  WSP’s Jason Butterworth as director of design & transportation for its consultancy business and Kier’s Adam McAllister as head of rail for construction.

Mr Butterworth has previously worked for McNicholas, NG Bailey and Carillion. At WSP he helped grow WSP's rail business with projects such as Crossrail Bond Street station, West Coast Main Line electrification and Thameslink’s London Bridge station.

Mr McAllister will take the construction lead role for the rail business, working with director Nigel Cole. Before Kier, he worked for Birse Rail and Alfred McAlpine. He has worked on the King’s Cross Station roof redevelopment, Crossrail advanced works, West Coast Mainline upgrade projects and the recent redevelopment of Epsom station.
