The Beaumont Walk facility will have 70 two-bed apartments and a community hub with shared amenities and 24-hour on site care.
The £7.4m scheme is being constructed on behalf of Housing 21 and Derby City Council.
It has been designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and will minimise energy loss through a thermal fabric within the wall cavities. The communal heating systems will help reduce energy use, Mansell said, while the building design maximises the use of natural lighting and ventilation, as well as low-water use sanitary ware and a sustainable urban drainage system.
