McLaughlin & Harvey takes £45m Teesport quay job

20 May 14 PD Teesport has selected McLaughlin & Harvey to dredge and rebuild its number one quay, in a two-year contract valued at £45m.

The works consist of the demolition and removal of the existing concrete structure and reconstruction of the quay, including dredging works to deepen the approaches and berthing pocket.

Nearly 800 metres of quay wall is to be rebuilt in a three-phase operation to enable the port to take larger container ships.

McLaughlin & Harvey has also now just begun work on the £25m Port of Cromarty Firth expansion at Invergordon (pictured below).

Here the works include the reclamation of approximately 35,000 square metres of land from the sea and construction of a quay capable of accommodating large vessels.
