Working for Victoria Hall Management, a specialist provider of student accommodation, North Midland Construction will refurbish Allen House in Leicester city centre to provide rooms for 387 students. The project is being funded by the BlackRock UK Property Fund.
North Midland is working with architect LE1 to develop the scheme. Allen House is a 1920s local landmark and many of its original features will be retained, along with the construction of new build residences. There will be a mixture of apartment types including cluster accommodation with shared kitchen and living apartments as well as self-contained studio flats with en-suite facilities.
Work starts on site this month and the project is scheduled for completion during summer 2016.
