Sika stands out in Jewson branches

17 Nov 11 After working closely with Jewson during its development, Sika has rolled out its new product stand across 65 branches, delivering a moveable, portable point of sale stand to help raise customer awareness of the diverse range of Sika products available.

Developed following discussions with Jewson about providing information to customers in the most effective way, Sika has created a stand for use in all participating Jewson branches that allows the display of seasonal products, making it easy for the customer to select the product for their needs. Easy to move and transport, the stand allows for easy stock rotation according to seasonal changes.

In line with Jewson’s brand identity, the product stands are supplied in blue and yellow and offer the ideal opportunity to proudly display some of Sika’s popular products, such as Sikaflex EBT and Sika MaxTack.

Paul Hayler, Key Account Manager from Sika explained the reasoning behind the unique partnership: “Sika has a close relationship with Jewson and we pride ourselves on being able to supply Jewson with an innovative, high performance range of products that the builder can use on an everyday basis. Rolling the stand out across a number of branches already, we have been able to raise Sika’s awareness among Jewson customers helping them to grow their building chemicals and adhesives market in turn.”

He continued: “Feedback from participating branches suggests that on average, an extra £2,000 of Sika building chemicals has been sold, per branch, since the product stands have been in store. As a result, the Sika stands are helping to add value to what may be perceived as a niche market, developing increased awareness amongst builders as to the benefits of using such products.”

Similarly, Paul Brookes, Marketing – LBM Category at Jewson, has recognised the substantial benefits of partnering in this way: “The dual branded product stands can help increase add-on sales for us – Sika’s Block Paving Fix, for example, may be bought in conjunction with block paving slabs themselves due to the fact that the product delivers a longer term solution when installing.”

“We’ve had a record year with Sika in terms of sales, which is owed in part, to the introduction of the new product stands. Equally, we’ve had great feedback from customers since the stands were brought in – namely that builders are pleased that they can get everything they need at once and are happy to have an even greater choice when selecting products for a job,” he added.
