T&T takes on 18 in Brazil

21 Oct 13 Turner & Townsend has made 18 new appointments to its Brazil office, including a new regional managing director for its Latin American business.

Chartered civil engineer Robert Edwards joins the São Paulo office as regional managing director, bringing over 30 years of international experience in the construction industry. Edwards, who is a member of the Association for Project Management, most recently worked for seven years as Turner and Townsend’s head of project management for the south of England, where he led teams working on PwC’s More London and Embankment Place projects and the Shard development.

Other new appointments in the region consist of 10 senior contract administrators working within the mining sector and seven commercial property cost managers and project managers, all of whom are either local or from Chile and Peru.

Edwards said: “The Brazilian economy continues to present significant opportunities for growth in the construction industry, so much so that we have been able to expand our team considerably.

“On a personal level, it is exciting to join a rapidly growing office, and to share my experience as we work to deliver difference on behalf of clients including Alcoa, Shell, Eithad, the Canadian Pension Fund (CPPIB) and Singapore Sovereign Wealth Fund (GIC)."
