Frank Nelson, aged 63, was finance director of Galliford Try from 2000 until October 2012, and previously finance director of Try Group from 1987, prior to its merger with Galliford.
He is also a non-executive director of Thames Valley Housing Association, McCarthy & Stone, and HICL Infrastructure Company.
He will join the board of the London-focused residential property developer in the new year and will replace Robert Clarke, when he retires in July, as chairman of Telford’s audit committee.
Telford Homes chief executive Jon Di-Stefano said: "We are delighted to welcome Frank to the board. His extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the construction and housebuilding sector, gleaned from a successful career spanning nearly three decades, will be extremely beneficial to the Group as we continue our corporate development and high rate of growth.”
