All three employees have been supported by the Paisley based construction, refurbishment and maintenance company to graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University with Honours degrees in Quantity Surveying.
Matthew Milligan, 26, from Greenfield in the east end of Glasgow, is responsible for the commercial management of projects. His duties include procuring and appointing sub-contract packages as well as monitoring costs of works and materials. Matthew hopes to continue studying to obtain Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors qualifications.
Lorraine Chandler, 30, from Barrhead started working with Clark Contracts as an apprentice joiner in 1997 and moved off site after four years to develop her skills in a number of office based positions, Lorraine is now settled in the quantity surveying department.
Joining the company in 2005, Barry McGuire, 26 from Crookston is responsible for all elements of financial control on his assigned projects and also enjoys running the Clark Contracts football team in his spare time.
Commenting on their achievements, Gordon Cunningham, managing director, Clark Contracts said: "Our approach encourages staff at all levels to maximise their potential so that both they and the company can benefit. If that involves a complete change of direction from building site to office or from a trade to a profession, then we have built in the flexibility to accommodate this."
Since introducing this approach, Clark Contracts has supported more than 20 employees to graduate with industry recognised qualifications.
Founded in 1978, Clark Contracts has grown to employ over 200 staff at offices in Paisley, covering the West of Scotland, and Edinburgh, covering the East. Around 80% of the company's work is repeat business and six out of ten customers have worked with Clark Contracts for five years or more.
