TrustMark licences new glazing certifier

24 Oct 11 Certass has been approved by TrustMark as a new scheme operator for the glazing and conservatory trades, and to help sign up firms to the Government endorsed quality mark, which helps consumers find reliable and trustworthy local tradesmen.

Certass brings more than 1200 new glazing firms into the TrustMark scheme and it will continue to add further members firms over the coming months.  These firms will form part of TrustMark’s unique trades search engine to enable consumers to find trustworthy tradesmen to carry out repairs, maintenance and improvement work around the home.

Established in 2006, Certass is a Competent Person Scheme in England and Wales, which enables companies that install replacement windows, doors and associated glazing products in the home to self certify compliance under the relevant UK Building Regulations.  It is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising standards in the glazing industry.

Barrie Smith-Wright, Managing Director for Certass, says: “We welcome the opportunity to work with TrustMark and are delighted to have achieved scheme operator status.  It is a positive step forward for Certass as we are now in a position to offer our registered firms the opportunity to generate more business from homeowners who care about quality.

“Our objective is to ensure that the public recognise Certass as meeting the highest standards within the glazing industry, and by being TrustMark approved, we will be able to deliver a competitive advantage for our members.”
