Vinci awarded £46m West Bromwich Tesco deal

23 Nov 11 Vinci Construction UK have been awarded a £46m contract by Tesco Stores to build a large complex in the heart of West Bromwich. The project comprises of the design and construction of the new retail and leisure development.

The project, to be undertaken by Vinci Construction UK’s Midlands Building Division, will involve the demolition of existing buildings followed by the building of a new Tesco Extra Store and 43 new retail and leisure units with partially covered walkways.

The complex will also include a new road linkway, a cinema and other support buildings and infrastructure.

Chris Pape, managing director building division - Midlands, South West, Wales and retail, said: “This is a fantastic project to be undertaken by VINCI Construction UK, we are looking forward to rising to the challenge of providing a world class shopping and leisure facility for the people of West Bromwich to enjoy.

We will be working in partnership with Tesco Stores Limited to ensure that all works are completed to the highest standard.”
