Welsh construction panel meets

24 May 13 The new Welsh Government Construction Sector Panel held its first meeting this week under the continued chairmanship of David Joyce, former chief operating officer of Vinci plc.

Chris Sutton from Jones Lang LaSalle joins the Panel, while members reappointed to the Panel are:  Cowlin Construction regional managing director David Harris;, Powell Dobson Architects director Ann-Marie Smale; and Arup director Chris Jofeh.

Welcoming the new panel, economy minister Edwina Hart said: “I am delighted that Chris Sutton has agreed to join the new panel, and together with some of the returning members they provide a wealth of experience and expertise of the construction sector. The panel will provide me with expert knowledge and advice to help inform future policy on providing support to the construction industry in Wales and promoting growth this vital sector.”

Mr Joyce added: “I am looking forward to continuing the work of the panel and the addition of Chris Sutton will bring another experienced voice to the group. The construction industry is vital to the health of the Welsh economy and this panel will continue to provide advice to the minister on how the Welsh government can best support the sector and provide opportunities for growth. We will be looking for ways maximise Wales’ future return in investment on public sector spend in order to benefit the local economy, community and supply chain overall.”
