Associate / Associate Director / Technical Director - Civil Engineering

Location: Norwich
Salary: £70,000 - £95,000 DOE
Type: Full-Time | Permanent

I'm working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a senior Civil Engineer to lead its civil engineering team in Norwich.

The business works across sectors including data centres, energy, pharmaceuticals, logistics, retail, highways, residential and public sector projects, offering a varied and technically strong project portfolio.

This is a key role within the Norwich office, managing a small existing civils team with the opportunity to grow the team and develop the wider civil engineering offering.

The role is open to candidates at Associate, Associate Director or Technical Director level, depending on experience.

The Role

You'll combine technical leadership, project delivery, people management and client development.

Key responsibilities will include:

Leading civil engineering projects from concept through to detailed design and construction.

Providing technical expertise across drainage, highways, external works, levels, earthworks and infrastructure.

Managing, mentoring and developing the existing civil engineering team.

Reviewing technical deliverables and ensuring quality and compliance.

Managing project programmes, resources and budgets.

Building strong relationships with clients and other project stakeholders.

Supporting fee proposals and business development.

Contributing to recruitment and growing the Norwich civil engineering team.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong consultancy background and the ambition to take on a genuine leadership role.

You'll ideally have:

Significant civil engineering consultancy experience.

Strong technical knowledge across highways, drainage and infrastructure.

Experience managing or mentoring engineers and technicians.

Strong project management and client-facing skills.

Commercial awareness and experience supporting business development.

Chartered status or working towards ICE Chartership.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who wants to build and grow a team, rather than simply manage an established department.
