We are recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join a growing built environment consultancy in Leeds. The role offers broad building surveying experience and structured support towards becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor.

Role Overview

You will work with experienced Building Surveyors across educational, commercial and industrial property projects.

The role covers building surveys, design and specification, contract administration, planned maintenance, dilapidations and supervision of building works. You will also support complex multidisciplinary schemes and work directly with clients and other project professionals.

Important Eligibility Information

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A relevant RICS-approved degree with a minimum 2:1 classification
  • A full driving licence
  • A commitment to becoming a Chartered Building Surveyor
  • Your CV must clearly demonstrate how you meet these essential requirements. Applications without evidence of the required qualifications may not be progressed.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of building surveying projects and professional services.
  • Undertake building surveys and record accurate site information.
  • Attend site visits, project meetings and client meetings.
  • Prepare specifications and obtain estimates for building works.
  • Help plan maintenance programmes and administer contracts.
  • Analyse building defects and contribute to written reports.
  • Support the preparation of dilapidations schedules and negotiation of settlements.
  • Assist with supervising building works on site.
  • Provide advice on property design, construction, maintenance, repair and refurbishment.
  • Support complex multidisciplinary schemes.
  • Produce accurate documentation and communicate clearly with project stakeholders.
  • Manage your workload across multiple projects.

  • Good IT skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Desirable Requirements

  • Experience using AutoCAD, NBS or other building surveying software
  • Previous building surveying, property or construction experience
