Lead Portfolio Manager Location: Kings Cross, London (Hybrid - 3 days per week on site) Pay: £388.27 per day (PAYE) Hours: 35 hours per week Security Clearance: Active Security Clearance Required

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lead Portfolio Manager to support a major UK rail infrastructure programme focused on the delivery of large-scale digital technology across the passenger rail network.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a nationally significant programme, leading the planning and delivery of complex engineering and digital transformation projects that will improve the safety, reliability and performance of the railway.

The Role As Lead Portfolio Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of high-value rail projects, ensuring successful planning, coordination and delivery from inception through to completion.

Working closely with engineering teams, train operators and senior stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget while supporting the wider modernisation of the UK rail network.

Key Responsibilities Lead the planning and delivery of complex rail engineering and digital projects. Manage a portfolio of multiple projects across a national programme. Coordinate with operators, engineering teams and key stakeholders. Monitor programme performance, budgets, risks and delivery milestones. Support governance processes and project approvals. Ensure alignment between project strategy, operational readiness and delivery plans. Produce reports and updates for senior management. Drive successful project delivery while maintaining compliance with programme standards. Essential Requirements Active Security Clearance. Proven experience delivering rolling stock modification or large-scale rail engineering programmes. Strong Programme or Portfolio Management experience. Background in railway engineering or railway systems. Experience managing complex engineering or digital transformation projects. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. What's on Offer £388.27 per day PAYE. Hybrid working - 3 days per week in Kings Cross. 35-hour working week. Opportunity to work on a major UK rail modernisation programme.
