Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Rate: £30.00 per hour
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Hours: Full-Time | Immediate Start Available

MSS Infrastructure Ltd is recruiting for a Mechanical Test Rig Technician to join a specialist engineering and testing facility in Watford.

This is a practical, hands-on role focused on building, modifying and maintaining bespoke test rigs within a laboratory environment. Ideal for candidates from mechanical assembly, HVAC, plumbing, maintenance, engineering workshop or building services backgrounds who enjoy working with tools and solving technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and modify mechanical and HVAC test rigs
• Assemble pipework, valves, pumps, ductwork and associated equipment
• Carry out mechanical fitting, maintenance and repair work
• Set up equipment and test installations for ongoing projects
• Read and work from technical drawings and schematics
• Fault-find and rectify issues on test rigs and mechanical systems
• Support engineers with laboratory testing and development activities
• Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times

Requirements

• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing or building services
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, proactive and able to work as part of a team
• Strong awareness of health and safety

Desirable Experience

• Mechanical fitting or assembly experience
• HVAC, plumbing or pipefitting background
• Workshop, laboratory or test facility experience
• Experience building bespoke equipment, rigs or prototypes
