Specialist Fitter / Fabricator - HS2

£31.47 per hour (depending on experience).

Position: Specialist Fitter / Fabricator
Experience: Any level of relevant experience considered, from a construction / civil engineering background.
Systems: Topcon, Leica or Trimble GPS

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, fit and maintain GPS and machine control equipment on construction plant and machinery.
  • Work with Topcon, Leica and/or Trimble GPS systems.
  • Carry out fitting, fabrication and mechanical installation work.
  • Install brackets, sensors, antennas, cables and associated GPS equipment.
  • Assist with calibration, testing and commissioning of GPS systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve basic equipment and installation issues.
  • Carry out inspections and routine maintenance of installed equipment.
  • Work alongside plant operators, engineers and site teams to ensure systems are correctly installed and functioning.
  • Read technical information, drawings and installation instructions.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to the required quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs and maintenance.
  • Travel to different construction sites as required.
  • Requirements

  • Previous experience in fitting, fabrication, plant, mechanical installation or a related field.
  • Experience with Topcon, Leica or Trimble GPS systems is desirable.
  • Any level of relevant GPS/machine control experience will be considered.
  • Good mechanical and practical skills.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a site team.
  • Good understanding of construction site safety.
  • Full UK driving licence would be advantageous.
  • About the Role

    MSS Infrastructure are looking for a Specialist Fitter / Fabricator with experience working with machine control and GPS positioning systems, for a role working on the prestigious HS2 project. Candidates with experience using Topcon, Leica or Trimble GPS systems are encouraged to apply.
