The Opportunity A leading housing organisation is looking for an experienced and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join its Asset & Property team. The role will support the commercial management and delivery of planned investment and construction projects across a substantial housing portfolio, with responsibility for financial control, contract administration and value-for-money delivery. You will work closely with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery and contribute to service improvements and wider organisational objectives. - Salary of £52,621 per year
- Experience delivering quantity surveying services within the construction sector is essential
- Experience in procurement, project management, contract administration and budget management is required
- Chartered status, a degree qualification or significant relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline is required
- Client-side Quantity Surveying experience is desirable
- Housing sector and planned investment experience is desirable
- Knowledge of the Construction Act and associated legislation is desirable
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use are essential
- Regular site visits will be required
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day quantity surveying and contract administration functions across planned investment and asset projects
- Prepare, review and administer contracts, valuations, variations, certifications and final accounts
- Support procurement and tendering activities
- Prepare tender documentation and pricing schedules
- Monitor contract performance, project completions, cashflow, budgets and commercial outcomes
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess project progress and commercial performance
- Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and operational risks
- Attend and represent the organisation at pre-start, progress, partnership and commercial review meetings
- Support the development and integration of commercial and asset management systems
- Contribute to service improvements and efficiencies
- Support social value initiatives across the organisation
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor, degree-qualified Quantity Surveyor or someone with significant relevant experience
- Strong Quantity Surveying experience within the construction sector
- Experience of procurement and tendering
- Strong contract administration experience
- Experience managing budgets and monitoring commercial performance
- Ability to analyse complex commercial and financial information
- Ability to provide clear commercial recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a vehicle for business use
- Client-side Quantity Surveying experience
- Housing sector experience

- Knowledge of current and emerging housing and construction regulations
