Associate Geotechnical Engineer

Location: London | Hybrid Working
Salary: Up to £70,000 + Benefits

I'm working with a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join its London team.

The business has a strong reputation across the built environment, delivering engineering and environmental services across sectors including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, regeneration and infrastructure.

This is an opportunity to take a senior position within an established geotechnical team, combining technical delivery and project management with client engagement, mentoring and business development.

The Role

You'll take responsibility for the delivery of geotechnical projects from initial investigation through to design and construction support, working closely with engineers and other disciplines across the wider business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing geotechnical and geo-environmental projects from inception through to completion.
• Designing and supervising ground investigations.
• Producing interpretative reports, geotechnical assessments and technical documentation.
• Undertaking foundation, retaining wall, earthworks and slope stability assessments.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Managing project programmes, budgets and resources.
• Liaising directly with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Supporting fee proposals and contributing to business development.
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
• Supporting the continued growth of the geotechnical team.

About You

We're looking for an experienced geotechnical engineer who is ready to take on greater responsibility and play an active role in both project delivery and team development.

Ideally, you'll have:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
• Chartered status or be working towards Chartership with ICE, the Geological Society or equivalent.
• Strong consultancy experience within geotechnical engineering.
• Experience delivering projects across a range of development sectors.
• Strong technical reporting and analytical skills.
• Experience managing projects and supporting or mentoring junior engineers.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in developing client relationships.

The role would suit a Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer looking to step into an Associate position, or an existing Associate looking for a new challenge.
