About the Role

MSS Infrastructure are looking for an experienced FRC Foreman to join a major civil engineering and infrastructure project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating Fibre Reinforced Concrete (FRC) works on site, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications, drawings and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate FRC activities across the site.
  • Lead and manage a team of operatives involved in FRC works.
  • Organise daily activities and allocate labour according to the project programme.
  • Oversee the preparation, placement and finishing of fibre-reinforced concrete.
  • Ensure FRC works are completed in accordance with project specifications and required standards.
  • Coordinate FRC activities with groundworks, reinforcement, formwork and concrete teams.
  • Check work areas and preparations prior to concrete placement.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of completed FRC works.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting quality, productivity or programme.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and method statements.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and other trades to coordinate works.
  • Ensure materials, tools, plant and equipment are available and used correctly.
  • Monitor team productivity and ensure works remain on programme.
  • Brief operatives on daily activities, RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • Ensure all operatives comply with site health and safety procedures.
  • Identify hazards and report unsafe working practices or site conditions.
  • Maintain clean, safe and organised working areas.
  • Attend toolbox talks, site briefings and coordination meetings.
  • Complete relevant quality and site documentation.
  • Work closely with the wider construction team to ensure the successful delivery of FRC works.
  • Requirements

  • Previous experience as an FRC Foreman, FRC Supervisor or similar position.
  • Strong experience with Fibre Reinforced Concrete and concrete construction.
  • Previous experience supervising teams on civil engineering or major infrastructure projects.
  • Good understanding of FRC preparation, placement and finishing processes.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of construction site health and safety requirements.
  • Good leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage labour and coordinate daily site activities.
  • Relevant CSCS card/industry-recognised qualification.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS would be advantageous.
  • Previous major infrastructure experience is desirable.
