Principal Transport Planner - London

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Are you a Senior Transport Planner or Principal Transport Planner in London looking for your next exciting challenge?

I'm working with an established and growing transport planning consultancy based in Central London, who are looking to appoint a Principal Transport Planner to join their team.

The consultancy has a strong presence within the UK transport planning sector, while maintaining a collaborative and close-knit working environment. The London team works on a varied portfolio of development planning projects across a wide range of sectors, offering excellent opportunities for technical development, client exposure and career progression.

You'll have the opportunity to lead and deliver projects ranging from smaller developments through to major and complex schemes, working alongside architects, engineers, urban designers and other transport professionals.

Principal Transport Planner - Key Responsibilities:

• Leading the preparation of Transport Statements, Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and other supporting technical documents.
• Managing and delivering development planning projects from inception through to completion.
• Undertaking traffic and transport data analysis and interpreting findings to support planning applications.
• Assessing the transport impacts of proposed developments and providing strategic transport advice.
• Managing client relationships and attending meetings with clients, stakeholders, local authorities and design teams.
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the team.
• Supporting the continued development of existing client relationships and new business opportunities.
• Taking responsibility for project programmes, budgets and technical deliverables.

Principal Transport Planner - Key Requirements:

• Significant experience within Transport Planning, ideally within a consultancy environment.
• Strong experience in development planning and transport consultancy.
• Proven experience leading and managing projects independently.
• Strong technical, analytical and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience liaising with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
• A good understanding of the UK planning process and transport requirements for development schemes.
• A proactive and commercially aware approach to project delivery.
• Degree in Transport Planning or a related discipline.
• Chartered status or working towards chartership would be advantageous.
