Senior Quantity Surveyor - Heathrow

I'm currently working with a well-established specialist contractor delivering a major infratsurcture project in West London, and they're looking to bring in an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team.

The key requirement?

You MUST have experience working for a contractor with a self-delivery model.

This isn't a role for someone who has only managed subcontract packages. They're looking for a commercially strong QS who understands the challenges of self-delivered works, including managing labour, plant, materials, productivity and the commercial impact of site operations.

The Role

You'll take commercial responsibility across a significant package of works, working closely with the project team to manage costs, change, procurement, forecasting and commercial performance.

You'll be involved in:

Managing the commercial function across your package/project

Cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs

Subcontract and supplier procurement

Variations, change control and valuations

Contract administration and commercial risk management

Managing applications, payments and final accounts

Working closely with operational teams to understand project delivery

Monitoring the commercial impact of labour, plant and materials

Supporting and developing junior commercial staff

What I'm Looking For

Essential:

Senior Quantity Surveyor / experienced QS background

Strong main contractor / specialist contractor experience

Proven self-delivery experience

Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration

Experience managing packages from procurement through to final account

Good understanding of NEC / JCT contracts

Desirable:

Experience working with steel structures / structural steel

Aviation, infrastructure, industrial or major construction experience

Experience working on complex, high-value projects
