Electrical Project Manager - Data Center Projects
Locations: USA
Compensation: $130,000 - $190,000 annually
Travel Rotation: Up to 75%
Position Summary
An established electrical contractor is seeking experienced
Electrical Project Managers to oversee the execution of complex mission critical & commercial construction projects. This is a site-based leadership role responsible for the complete lifecycle of construction projects from pre-construction through closeout with a focus on safety, budget, quality, and schedule.
Duties & Scope
- Develop and build strong project teams while delivering high-quality results, meeting customer expectations, managing scope, delivering on schedule, and staying within budget.
- Drive division profitability through effective project execution and financial oversight.
- Develop and lead project management technical and scheduling objectives, procurement activities, contractual requirements, personnel assignments, and capacity planning.
- Evaluate and continuously improve departmental systems and processes to meet customer requirements and profitability goals.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 3 direct reports and 10 total team members.
- Review overall contractual requirements for projects and apply appropriate process design methodologies as needed.
- Ensure project schedule requirements are met, adjusting priorities and milestones based on changing customer needs, resource availability, and job requirements.
- Engage with customers to ensure expectations are clearly understood and met before, during, and after project completion.
- Provide oversight and coordination for third-party construction firms.
- Manage the project review process with a strong focus on financial forecasting and performance.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality engineering, studies, and overall project execution.
- Proactively and consistently communicate challenges, risks, and successes to stakeholders.
- Oversee invoicing per project terms and negotiate appropriate change orders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in commercial or mixed-use electrical construction.
- Strong understanding of electrical power engineering principles.
- Field experience coordinating with construction management teams.
- Extensive knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to develop relationships and support business development efforts.
- Demonstrated success managing a profitable project portfolio.
- Exceptional initiative, execution, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong analytical, motivational, and leadership capabilities.
- Electrical Engineering or Construction Management degree strongly preferred.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.
