Pre-Construction Project Manager

Location: Glasgow
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 basic
Package: Car or Car Allowance, Bonus, Private Healthcare, Pension
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2/3 days per week on site/office and 2/3 days from home
Job Type: Permanent

The Opportunity

An opportunity to move from a site-based role to an office-based hybrid position with a Tier 1 contractor delivering energy and power schemes across Scotland.

This role is suited to a Project Manager looking to transfer their delivery experience into the power sector. Applications are welcomed from infrastructure backgrounds including highways, rail, utilities, aviation and environmental or flood-defence projects.

Role Description

As a Pre-Construction Project Manager within the power division, you will lead projects across an awarded framework. The focus is on developing bids, programmes and costings for work already allocated within the framework, ensuring packages are financially viable and ready for client sign-off.

You will use your project-delivery background to lead the development of programmes and support the pre-construction team. This is not a role focused on winning new work; it is about developing delivery plans and costs for agreed framework opportunities.

Reporting to the Head of Bidding, you will receive support to develop your career. Projects sit within the energy and power sector, with a focus on civil engineering works alongside a technology partner delivering substations and associated equipment.

Areas of Involvement

  • Strategy and planning
  • Coordination and leadership
  • Content and quality control
  • Process and risk management
  • Post-submission and handover

This hybrid position is ideal for someone looking to move away from a fully site-based role while remaining closely involved in major project delivery.

Required Experience

  • HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Proven experience leading £20m+ projects or framework projects within civil engineering
  • Full driving licence
  • Living in Scotland on a full-time basis
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK
